The Concise Trilingual (English - Russian - French) Dictionary of Military and Political Terms on Russia - NATO Cooperation is a joint effort of NATO (SHAPE) and Russian military representatives (the Russian Delegation to SHAPE). The Dictionary has been compiled by Colonel Sergei Stepanov, Deputy Chief of the English Language Department at the Russian Armed Forces Military University, Moscow - member of the Russian MOD Operational Group at SHAPE, Mrs. Olga Popova, free-lance interpreter under SHAPE Linguistic Services, and Mrs. Suzanne D'Hooghe, Principal Interpreter, SHAPE Linguistic Services. The chief editor - Sergei Stepanov. This compilation of key terminology on NATO-Russia military co-operation has been developed to assist personnel involved in current NATO-led IFOR/SFOR operations and ongoing NATO - Russia co-operation activities.
The Dictionary consists of three parts: English - Russian - French; Russian - English - French; French - English - Russian. It also incorporates the Lists of abbreviations in three languages. It contains terms used by NATO and Russian forces serving in Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as key terms of the NATO-Russia Founding Act, and of working documents on current NATO-Russia cooperation.
